Beyond your spring cleaning list, there are home maintenance tasks that can be done at the end of winter to keep your home safe and get it ready for the warmer season. Here are some of our tips to get your home equipped for the spring!
Replace Filters
Your furnace is working OVERTIME throughout the winter, especially in Montana. Right before spring is a great time to replace your filters. Depending on your filter type, you should replace them every 3-6 months
Sprinklers
Get in the front of the line and contact your sprinkler company now! Best to beat the rush and have your sprinklers ready ASAP so that you can enjoy a nice, watered lawn when the weather is nice!
Clean gutters
If you didn’t get those gutters cleaned after fall last year, you’ll want to grab a ladder and check your gutters for debris this spring. Wait for the spring thaw and make sure your downspouts channel water at least five feet from your foundation. This is also a good time to check foundation vents for debris and clogging.
Window cleaning
The bad weather will cause dirty windows. The spring is a great time to get outside and get some spring cleaning done on the exterior of your home. Tip: Hire a window-cleaning service if the feat is a little too much or you have lots of windows on the second, or even third levels of your home.
Clean the grill
Get ready for BBQ season! There’s nothing worse than wanting to get a BBQ going and remembering the grill hasn’t been cleaned. Be proactive by getting that barbeque spick and span before you’re spring/summer patio parties.
Tidy up Your Garage
If you have a garage you know that during the winter, things tend to get thrown in there to survive the long season. Now that it will soon be getting warm, put things back in their place and throw out things you do not need anymore. Consider buying storage containers or racks to clear up clutter.
